Lately, I have found that "chemtrail believers" are more tending to agree that there are indeed ice particles that create contrails...but that they feel there is something in the ice.
I think they really want something to be in there....but have a hard time justifying what it is, and how it gets there.

Anyway, don't chemmies believe commercial aircraft are spraying by way of particles in the fuel? I can see some of them using this as validation of their beliefs.

Close up videos are great to get some perspective on exactly what is going on - like here you can see the contrail transition from invisible to visible behind the engine - and get a sense of how fast it's coming out. Viewed from the ground it seems to be gracefully painted on the sky. The reality is more energetic.

I also like this video, which shows the vertical shape of an older contrail - something that's not apparent from the ground.

there are many videos on youtube of close encounters with persistent contrails from the vantage point of other planes....search: "contrail" and "cockpit" and you get a whole bunch...

There used to be a guy called "wineandflyguy" who had a bunch he took from the cockpit crossing all sorts of persistent contrails and identifying the planes they came from...but he seems to have closed his account.

however, while searching for him I just found this video of 1950s contrails- hard to say if they are persistent or not:

I just uploaded this... it clearly shows me flying for extended amounts of time in multiple, dump of death "Chemclouds" whilst viewing an ominous "Chembow."
