I think I had the time wrong, used the last saved metadata time rather than the created time. that puts the aircraft much further on in its flight and therefore unlikely to be Starlink flares.

Seems to be in the right place, right time, for Starlink flares (@Mick West - sitrec doesn't seem to be 1) showing the flare band and 2) showing flare-arrows when using the kml as the camera position source)

Also there's a part in the video where the Pan and Tilt (elevation) angles for the camera are shown Pan (bearing) 346.8 degrees, and Tilt (Elevation) 83 degrees. That puts the camera pointing at the same point that the CSS satellite entered the earth's shadow.

Hey @jimmyslippin - I think I've identified the satellite. Looking at your video we can see that the UFO is moving in the direction of the arrow below: The direction of movement can then be put onto the annotated starmap, showing its path relativve to the consteallation Cygnus. It disappears...

Could have been either of these two. I dont think there's enough detail (shadows?) in the video to work out if the plane is flying N-S or W-E. Going on time alone, and proximity to the witness maybe the AerLingus one is more likely...

Yep, sounds very much like Starlink flares. I tried to join that Facebook group a few weeks ago but they were not accepting new members because of 'exceptional circumstances'.

I think that it is difficult to describe the motion of the Starlink flares using only words. It is difficult for everyone including pilots. I also think that as they are used to seeing moving lights in the sky that usually turn out to be planes they frame these as such and use words that relate...
