Very sad development if this turns out to be true, with possible grave implications for anonymous finger-pointers.

The body of a man found in a Rhode Island river may be a student mistakenly identified as one of the Boston bombers, authorities say.

The state medical examiner's office is trying to determine whether the dead man is Sunil *Tripathi, 22, who has been missing since March.

Members of a university rowing team found the body on Tuesday evening.

Mr Tripathi has been described as the other victim of the bombings after he was wrongly identified a suspect.

Police Lieutenant Joseph Donnelly told the Boston Globe it was "very possible" that the body is Mr Tripathi.

Brown University's rowing coach called police after spotting the body floating in the Providence River.

Mr Tripathi, a former Brown University student, was last seen in his apartment in Providence on 16 March.

On Monday social media website Reddit issued a public apology for its coverage of the Boston bombings after it wrongly named specific people as suspects.

Those mistakenly identified as suspects included Mr Tripathi.

Particularly sad as his family had a facebook page 'Help find Sunil Tripathi' which documented their search putting up posters around the place and messages to him - they seemed like a close loving family.
(the page had to be taken down soon after his name went public connected with Boston.)

His alleged resemblance to "Suspect 1" was remarked upon several times by George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Oh right - now this is going to be a conspiracy theory, the "real" bomber was Tripathi, and the brothers are some kind of patsy? Funny that never even occurred to me.

The other 'bomber' mentioned that night was Mugabe (?sp). a quick check showed him to be Ethiopian. Since neither of the suspects were dark skinned, that was an obvious mistake. Someone even posted a link to his Twitter account on FB. After an hour or so he found it and posted that he WAS not a suspect that he wanted his twitter account link pulled.

If you want to have some fun and be enlightened at the same time listen to Coast to Coast AM on a "good" night. Last night for instance, one Richard Belzer was on. He's amazing. This guy claims that damn near everything is a conspiracy.

Of course he has a book...or two...

You might want to look at him for a new thread.
