Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

Okay. These are the questions i'm really interested in from #17 Does anyone know what the range of correction is? [the maximum distance a pixel will be destabilized] (iphone SE 2nd gen) Is it uniform across the frame or could pixels toward the outside of the frame like this one be given more...

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

Yes. Is it photoshop automatically resampling the image?

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

It's not been altered. Just opened the .mov file in photoshop and viewed a grid at 100pixels per square.

The video is 3840 x 2160 the above image is the a cropped section but shows the full short 2160 pixel edge.

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

Does anyone know what the range of correction is? (iphone SE 2nd gen) Is it uniform across the frame or could pixels toward the outside of the frame like this one be given more correction? Here the grid lines are 100pix square showing this stuck pixel moves around 900 pixels in both directions.

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

What I don't understand with the stuck pixel explanation in my case is the movement within the frame of the dot. I'm used to seeing stuck pixels on say a DSR or the ISS camera but they stay fixed in the frame. Also the examples in the thread linked all have a point light source creating the lens...

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

Here's the same process using a portion of the first video of the trees. The image inset shows how far the dot travels within the frame.

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

Here's a stack (427 images) taken from a few seconds of the second video (the one with the cloud). Slightly levels adjusted. I've cropped out most of the image and rotated it counter clockwise and left the full short edge width of the frame (now on the horizontal axis) to show how far the dot...

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

It seems so. I just didn't expect image stabilisation to move the dot so far within the frame and thought that stuck pixels remained exactly where they are within the frame. @jarlrmai I just did that and yes the dot appears in the same position with the phone motionless, then if I move the phone...

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

Here's a second film with the dot in the same position on the left. (The tapping sound is me adjusting the exposure / focus). [Just ignore that mile-long UFO in the centre of the frame...]. Source: https://youtu.be/tMsMs4q7v8g

Wandering white dot on iPhone videos [Destabilized Stuck Pixel]

I’ve noticed on several videos taken in very low light a small white dot in the frame. I thought it was a stuck pixel but it doesn’t stay in exactly the same place. It’s always generally on the left side of the image but it hops around the frame as I move the camera. At one point I walk past a...

Episode 57: Alex Dietrich: Clouds, Critical Thinking, and UFOs

I came across this experiment that relates to the 10 seconds or 5 minutes debate. THE UNIDENTIFIED WITNESS - UFO WITNESS PSYCHOLOGY RESULTS Dr. Alexander Keul and Ken Phillips BUFORA bulletin 21 May 1986 A Simulated UFO Sighting To paraphrase the experiment: An image of a structured luminous...

1971 Lake Cote / Lago de Cote UFO Aerial Photo

That would be a great project for someone who has a darkroom setup. I think the possible explanations so far fall in to two camps: some light anomaly captured during exposure (discussed directly above) or some physical defect (although no one seems to have been able to properly examine the...

1971 Lake Cote / Lago de Cote UFO Aerial Photo

This is useful info. fig 1.8 seems to support the idea that the point light source could be far outside of the frame. (Unless I’m misunderstanding it). Perhaps a reflection from the lake as someone suggested earlier in the thread. (I wonder if more images from the mosaic from the parallel pass...

1971 Lake Cote / Lago de Cote UFO Aerial Photo

If it's a ghost flare there should be some other repeats of the same shape in the same image. Is the area of cloud boxed a repeat? (it looks rotated). It appears in both the old print (I've called it "tape" because it has tape marks on the edge) and also in the recent drum scan. Is it related...

1971 Lake Cote / Lago de Cote UFO Aerial Photo

It appears so. If you drop the brightness you can see the pitch of the roof catching the light. There are also two other ground objects much closer to the "flying saucer". A roundish looking thing they airbrushed out completely on the recent drum scan. Do we think that's something on the print...

1971 Lake Cote / Lago de Cote UFO Aerial Photo

There are details about the exact camera used in #166 If it's a ghosting lens flare I wonder if the light source for it could be a momentary glint off the white building at the very edge of the frame (seen in #219). Otherwise, without a source, I can't see how it's a flare because there...

Solved: MUFON case #124190: 'Mothership' UAP Crosses the North Pacific [Starlink Stack]

I had the same question in #33. Wondering what the best estimate is for the length of the lights they recorded. I'm guessing it's much, much longer than a mile. Are they seeing the whole train or just part of it reflecting sunlight?
