Avionics System Technician Discusses FLIR Targeting Pod's Tracking and Glare

It's interesting how much these 3 ATLFIR videos have dominated the narrative, GIMBAL especially. To point where a quite a few UFO proponents are happy to "give" us prosaic explanations for most new videos/pictures especially civilian ones.

Avionics System Technician Discusses FLIR Targeting Pod's Tracking and Glare

The whole debate over gimbal largely boils down to "could the video be explained by artefacts/glitches caused by the way the system is designed and operates." Makes me wonder given the classified nature of the equipment how many people there are in the world who would actually have detailed...

Help to debunk: 737 flies backward

What we are saying is that a common optical illusion can either legitimately confuse people, or be knowingly exploited to make odd looking videos on YouTube. Or you can know about it and still notice it when you see it and can recognise places where the optical illusion is likely to occur as...

Help to debunk: 737 flies backward

You can be tricked when walking or moving your head by a stationary light and moving or distant one in a dark sky, say a streetlight and a plane. You just need a lack of reference points and you can see movement that isn't there.

Help to debunk: 737 flies backward

This is incredibly useful stuff, thanks. Should certainly be added to the tools thread. I'm wondering if there are any cold cases this could be applied to..

Does the beginning part of Gimbal debunk the claim that the object rotates?

Not 100% though, I think people might point that out as a criticism even though it makes no real difference to the theory, the pod is mounted off centre so when the aircraft rotates the full pod assembly translates around that axis as well as rotating. This movement only occurs when the...

Does the beginning part of Gimbal debunk the claim that the object rotates?

Not why I am getting "disagree" on my comments, just trying to help Mick with things to mention in his new video to help people visualise this scenario best. It's a very difficult setup to conceptualise.

Does the beginning part of Gimbal debunk the claim that the object rotates?

I think you might want to clarify that the ATFLIR is not centrally mounted on the planes roll axis so when the plane rolls the ATFLIR does not 100% share it's roll transform by movement of the whole pod alone (not sure how important this is) I also think example pictures of cockpit eye view...

    Gimbal Blender Simulation with Clouds

The range I think refers to the laser target designator, the ATFLIR is more than an IR camera.

    Gimbal Blender Simulation with Clouds

I gave up with my Blender simulation, there are too many variables we just don't know to make it worthwhile. Cloud size/feature size, height/distance The object is very likely glare so we really have no way of knowing it's size/distance/direction/speed as it's apparent size is largely based on...

Amazing! UFOs in Marion, Ohio - December 16, 2021

Yeah that's my main issue a monetised video using a debunk from here becomes the popular source and then is tainted by being on a monetised channel, not much we can do about it though I agree and spreading the debunking word is probably for the best.

Amazing! UFOs in Marion, Ohio - December 16, 2021

on a different note, how do we feel about people (not Mick of course) taking our debunking work packaging it into a YT video and maybe trying to monetise the channel? It seems UFO videos are a bit of a revenue generator.

Amazing! UFOs in Marion, Ohio - December 16, 2021

Yeah the original video is a horizontal phone video in mov format on MUFON. Like the flares video there seems to be a trend of YouTube channels taking MUFON videos and reposting them then cross promoting on Reddit/Twitter. Probably taking advantage of the current UAP flap to boost subscribers...

Amazing! UFOs in Marion, Ohio - December 16, 2021

I'm not seeing anything other than standard 'phone camera at night' aberrations, compression artifacts and motion blur. What the hell are they talking about alien heads for? Seems like a case of I want to believe pareidolia. Distant objects in focus will show in front of foreground out of focus...
