Gimbal distance and Speed Range Estimates using Lines of Bearing and/or DCS

the 2.0x is zoomed once if that makes sense There isn't NAR then NAR Zoom level 1 and then NAR Zoom level 2 There is NAR and then NAR 2x

Could The Gimbal Video Show an Atlas V Launch?

Yeah that's the one, states borders and distances are a little different when you are the US Navy and have fighter jets and air to air refuelling and billions of dollars.

There is are Naval airbases all along that coast. There's Mayport at Jacksonville and then the one at Virginia Beach.

Gimbal distance and Speed Range Estimates using Lines of Bearing and/or DCS

We already have a thread for this, the theory is that the features of a plane cannot be seen because the IR glare of the heat source is larger than the physical size of the object and obscures it or it's so far away that all we can see is the glare from the heat source.

Could The Gimbal Video Show an Atlas V Launch?

can you draw a side of representation of what you think the gimbal video shows? It can be out of scale but include jet, target, earths surface, clouds. I find it really hard to match what you are saying with my own mental picture of the the gimbal setup.

    Hypothesis: Fravor's Tic Tac was Kurth's FA18

An f/18 cannot go "hypersonic" it's generally defined as above 5x the speed of sound. So it depends if Fravor's "hypersonic" just means really fast, i.e. faster than a jet fighter (the fastest thing he would expect to encounter.) It vanishing could just be the effect stopping or something else.

Could The Gimbal Video Show an Atlas V Launch?

There are various versions of ATFLIR and also similar pods that look the same/similar on display. You need to look at the actual GIMBAL video as reference (it only has 1 degree precision) though, otherwise would be saying -2.00 or whatever otherwise. Apart from this I am not sure what you are...

Could The Gimbal Video Show an Atlas V Launch?

A tenth of a degree? The ATFLIR display of angle is only accurate to one degree, the actual figure could probably vary between 1.51 and 2.49 or something depending on how the accurate or not the sensors are and what the developers chose to use as rounding boundaries for display.

The velocity vector indicator seems to show the aircraft is likely not pitching up or down significantly if at all. https://forums.vrsimulations.com/support/index.php/Navigation_Systems

I just put 2&2 together, the airbase that Graves talks about in the video linked in this thread the same base where the Batman balloon video was filmed near. https://www.metabunk.org/threads/sphere-acorn-metallic-blimp-three-iphone-photos-from-an-f-18-via-mystery-wire.11692/post-248044

[HOAX] "Glowing Tic-TaC" UFO in southern France [Possibly a Drone]

I bet that's more misdirection that doesn't look like what we see in the videos.

[HOAX] "Glowing Tic-TaC" UFO in southern France [Possibly a Drone]

We might be misinterpreting that but I'd love to see the actual flight path of an RC aircraft that recreates the end of the 1st video.

[HOAX] "Glowing Tic-TaC" UFO in southern France [Possibly a Drone]

For me it's about the puzzle, hoax or not. A hoax makes a bit harder to figure out which can be fun. I figured we might see a decent drone light hoax at some point, I am a little disappointed they owned up so soon, but I guess with national TV coverage etc they figured it was time.

[HOAX] "Glowing Tic-TaC" UFO in southern France [Possibly a Drone]

I understand modern model RC planes are capable of some crazy stuff, but the video movements look so drone like the only reason RC planes were being bought up was the lack of drone noise in the videos. I guess we'll see when/if they release the "how" video.
