2004 USS Nimitz Tic Tac UFO FLIR footage (FLIR1)

The original leak on ATS mentions twice that pilots lost visual contact with the object due to haze http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread265835/pg1 That in turn seems to be summarising an "event log" which was supposedly exfiltrated from the Nimitz in the form of a Microsoft Word document...

"Pyramid" UFOs in Night Vision Footage are Bokeh

I delved into this a bit and it's really not standardized at all. There are some FAA rules about general strobe frequencies (quoted in this thread somewhere already), and Airbus aircraft are distinctive by using a double-pulse of the main beacon, but that's about it. Apparently modern 737s (800...

Long Distance Drones, Maybe Foreign, as Possible UFOs.

Is it a scale model in this article? http://www.chinadefenseobservation.com/?p=4448 I can't find actual specs on the dimensions anywhere. It does have quite a "tic tac" looking main fuselage, which conceivably could be the only visible part under certain conditions.

Sphere, Acorn, Metallic Blimp - Three iPhone Photos From an F-18 via Mystery Wire

There's a single free one on Turbosquid, and it seems to have basic modelling of the cockpit https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/boeing-hornet-3d-model-1675374

Sphere, Acorn, Metallic Blimp - Three iPhone Photos From an F-18 via Mystery Wire

Sure but it would be interesting to see if there was anything unusual up there with an ADS-B transponder. A bit of a long-shot.

Project Loon ones definitely do. The FAQ page may be out of date — the subscription page says 3 years.

Sphere, Acorn, Metallic Blimp - Three iPhone Photos From an F-18 via Mystery Wire

Just a thought - does anyone have a full subscription to flightradar24.com, who could have a look around that Virginia Beach warning area on March 4th 2019? Maybe see if there are any Project Loon type balloons showing up? You can of course register for a free 7-day trial on flightradar24.com...

"Pyramid" UFOs in Night Vision Footage are Bokeh

It's a bit of a sketchy lead, but it seems that some variants of B. E. Meyers' 'Dark Invader' scope, like Jesse3959's, were assigned National Stock Numbers — which means they were entered into the federal procurement system. Here's an example: https://www.wbparts.com/rfq/5855-01-447-9151.html...

"Pyramid" UFOs in Night Vision Footage are Bokeh

I ran the B737 clip through a bunch of filters in Blender to blur the distinct lights together and capture just the flashing pattern (plus a couple of extra steps to mimic the green bokeh). Here's the result - I wonder if it's worth trying to sync this up to the original video? It may not be...

My god, Mick's comment is on a positive score and the OP graciously acknowledged the correction. A day for the history books.

"Pyramid" UFOs in Night Vision Footage are Bokeh

The most widely deployed military night vision scope appears to be the AN/PVS 14. I can't find anything in the specs or manual about an adjustable iris, however. There are lots of YouTube videos demonstrating it too, but none that I've found to exhibit triangular bokeh e.g. Source...

Utah Drone video of UFO [Probably an Insect Zip-By]

Not sure if you've seen Rob Lewis's latest video on the Beaver UFO - but he visits the location and finds there is indeed a lot of "fluff" floating around. There are a lot of cottonwood trees in the area (and, indeed, dandelions).

Sphere, Acorn, Metallic Blimp - Three iPhone Photos From an F-18 via Mystery Wire

It's not a Plus so only the single lens. To rule out digital zoom, this would show up in EXIF as both "Digital Zoom Ratio" (which is absent from these leaked photos) and would affect the "Focal Length in 35mm Film" figure too (these are Apple's display labels, I'm not sure what fields they...

"Pyramid" UFOs in Night Vision Footage are Bokeh

There's a zoom in the video, a couple of seconds before the flashing triangle passes one of the dimmer triangles. Is there a way to tell if that's a digital zoom on the device that's filming, or an optical zoom of the night vision scope? The moving/flashing triangle seems a lot closer to the...

Sphere, Acorn, Metallic Blimp - Three iPhone Photos From an F-18 via Mystery Wire

The screen aspect ratio doesn't have any bearing on the camera's sensor, which is indeed 4:3. The lens has a 28mm focal length (35mm equivalent, actual sensor size is 4mm), which gives a 65.5º horizontal angle of view.

Sphere, Acorn, Metallic Blimp - Three iPhone Photos From an F-18 via Mystery Wire

It has a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 28mm - so about 65.5º horizontal angle of view. There are details of sensor size etc. in this thread.

Sphere, Acorn, Metallic Blimp - Three iPhone Photos From an F-18 via Mystery Wire

I think it's more that an iPhone 8 isn't classified technology, so these photos can be disseminated.
