Photos of Planes and Contrails (That you took yourself)

Another illustration of how forced perspective exaggerates minor course corrections making them look like big zigzags. Taken yesterday morning: The track shows it was just a couple of very minor course corrections in the vicinity of Gatwick airport. The first turn was about 40 miles away, and...

How Rogue Scientist J. Marvin Herndon Disproved the Last Resort of the Chemtrail Theory

It's something I had never really paid attention to until my parents moved to a house with a view of the sea. For a few weeks either side of the solstice, the sun sets out at sea as viewed from their front room, but the rest of the year the sunset is hidden by the hills as it sets further south...

Debunked: J. Marvin Herndon's "Geoengineering" Articles in Current Science (India) and IJERPH

LOL. "His paper was proven to be hopelessly flawed, which is the best evidence he was right"!

Debunked: New Zealand flag change is not a silent coup

So still a fern, but a new shoot. I think it's the shape of the waving flag in the images up top that gives the unfortunate anatomical effect :)

Debunked: New Zealand flag change is not a silent coup

What is the swirl meant to be? A rollmop? A Swiss roll? The more I stare at it the more it looks like the back end of a lion in silhouette, which probably wasn't the intended effect!

Debunked: New Zealand flag change is not a silent coup

It's already got you speaking Dutch! :) Anyway, I like the black and blue fern. It's a very nice design. Not sure about the black-and-white rollmop though...

Dogfighting Contrails? [Military Jets, Los Alcázare, Murica, Spain]

Nicely done. I didn't think that would be the same location as the first (sunset) segment, so I didn't look at that part of the video. It is to the north of the home address I found for the other photographer, so that was a red herring.

Fact Check: 42 Degree Halos, Incredibly Rare Sundogs, and Toxic Barium Halos

I don't see any comments more recent than two months old on there. I think you are the only person who can see your comment. Pretty standard behaviour when awkward facts are presented.

Dogfighting Contrails? [Military Jets, Los Alcázare, Murica, Spain]

I had a look around Los Alcazares in Google Street View to see if I could find the filming location of the video from which that grab was taken. No luck, but it certainly looks like a likely spot. Assuming that Francisco Ros Hellin took his photo from his home on Calle Juan Ramon Jimenez, then...

How Rogue Scientist J. Marvin Herndon Disproved the Last Resort of the Chemtrail Theory

Off topic for this thread perhaps, but do those ratios look even remotely similar to you? Bear in mind that the horizontal axis is logarithmic, not linear!

    Plane with Vertical Black Stripes

Very little time. Even out of the cockpit window the closing speed is pretty impressive. There's a nice collection of "crossings" here:

Fact Check: 42 Degree Halos, Incredibly Rare Sundogs, and Toxic Barium Halos

Correct. But it's worth pointing that the one barium compound he mentions by name is barium sulfate. He just uses "barium" as a catch-all term, which is ludicrous. I assume his "one gram will kill you" notion comes from barium chloride, which is soluble and has an lethal dose of about 1 gram...

Debunked: J. Marvin Herndon's "Geoengineering" Articles in Current Science (India) and IJERPH

I think you are giving chemtrail believers too much credit. It doesn't matter whether it's credible, or even what it actually says. All that matters is that it got published and it appears to back up their position. End of story.

    Pre 1995 Persistent Contrail Archive

Not pre 1995, but from 1995, in the music video to "This is Music" by The Verve. Persistent contrails forming an X over the Trellick Tower in west London: The trails are visible in the first 5 seconds, but out of focus, and appear to jump across the sky in segments filmed at different times...

Debunked: J. Marvin Herndon's "Geoengineering" Articles in Current Science (India) and IJERPH

It seems the professor is not terribly observant. I just clicked a random point on a freeway in San Diego on Google Maps and looked back through the historical Street View imagery (of which there is a lot to choose from in this area). This is from an image captured in October 2011: The same...

This one also passed the flight, 1000ft above, on the other side. Could the "FRONTIER" logo look like black and white stripes from a distance?
