    Some depopulation quotes to debunk?

There's a snippet view available in Google Books. Not much help, but the quote is in there: http://books.google.co.uk/books?ei=YZ1SVJiaOcjoaIvogqAK&id=kDUeAQAAIAAJ&dq=trashing+the+planet+dixie&focus=searchwithinvolume&q=contraceptive

    Some depopulation quotes to debunk?

This gives the source of the Ted Turner quote as "Power & Money" by Don McAlvany, Fall 1997, p6. http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=A6VI8-vqpTkC&pg=PA47&dq=ted turner A total world population of 250-300 million&hl=en&sa=X&ei=fptSVPL2F8POsQSXvIK4CA&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=ted turner A total...

    Some depopulation quotes to debunk?

David Brower does seem to have had a bee in his bonnet about overpopulation. http://www.applythebrakes.org/leader_detail.asp?id=9 Overpopulation is perhaps the biggest problem facing us, and immigration is part of the problem. It has to be addressed. He had four children, by the way.

    I have a question

That quote did give me pause too, at first, but I can see exactly what he meant. This site isn't about disproving all conspiracy theories. That would be impossible. If somebody says to you "Alien spaceships could be visiting our planet on a daily basis" - well, it's unlikely, but without a...

The Yellow Tailed DHL 747-8F that went over Redding is flying over WA

Doesn't look very persistent. A decent length though. https://www.metabunk.org/threads/plane-with-yellow-tail-over-redding-ca-polar-air-cargo-flight.4836/ As for the destination, if you look up the flight on Flightaware, rather than FR24, the correct destination shows up...

    90 Degree plane trail?

Pretty much. If it was a single photo then it could be a trick of perspective, making a gradual turn appear much sharper, but with two pictures from different angles that looks quite unlikely.

How do you think about debunking?

Agreed. I work for "the mainstream media". Believe it or not (!) we are not told what to publish by shadowy government figures. Of course the angle of the coverage is set to some extent by the editor's political beliefs and/or affiliations, but not to the level of censoring or fabricating news -...

How do you think about debunking?

Well yes, but we don't accept the position BECAUSE it's the official position, but because it is the only one that makes any sense. Example: I have debated a lot with people who claim the moon landings were a hoax. A common argument from them is "You only believe it because NASA/the...

How do you think about debunking?

I agree with this. In most cases it's not about an "official" position, but once which common sense or scientific intuition suggests is true. So I would say I am skeptical, but lean towards the obvious (not official) position. Of course, in some cases, the obvious answer isn't the correct one...

    Former believers, and lessons learned

Can't you see, though, that there is a fundamental difference between having different opinions on matters of opinion, and having different opinions on matters of fact? It would be truly boring if everybody had the same opinion, and I have no problem with people believing that Sports Team X is...

    90 Degree plane trail?

Could be. If we got the time and location we could maybe identify it, although the trail(s) could have been formed a long time before and a long way away from that location.

    90 Degree plane trail?

It could be. Certainly contrails can appear to have a sharp bend when it is really just a gentle curve, as seen here: https://www.metabunk.org/threads/solved-portsmouth-uk-alien-flight-path-ufo-contrail-private-jet-perspective.4559/ But in this case I think it really is two trails. If you...

    90 Degree plane trail?

It looks like there is a faint portion of the vertical trail extending past the intersection. They both look like rather old trails that have been battered about by the wind.

    Debunked: Australian Rainwater "Chemtrail" test

So even allowing for the fact they confused micrograms and milligrams, these samples were still well below those limits.

    90 Degree plane trail?

It looks to me like two incomplete trails, meeting at right angles. Do you have a wider view?

    Debunked: Australian Rainwater "Chemtrail" test

Presumably there isn't an easily quotable "safe limit" for uranium in drinking water.

    Debunked: Australian Rainwater "Chemtrail" test

See also this test from New Zealand, which is used as "evidence" that metals are being sprayed from planes: http://chemtrailsnorthnz.wordpress.com/2013/12/17/rainwater-test-result-from-nelson-shows-aluminium-barium-strontium-present/ This time the units are grams per cubic metre. One cubic...

    Former believers, and lessons learned

I'd agree with that up to as point. You need to have imagination to try new approaches, but you don't believe that they are true until you have evidence. Whereas the CT mindset seems to be "I can imagine it, therefore it must be true" ;)

    Former believers, and lessons learned

But these are theories that are based on existing knowledge and explain real things. It's not like "believing in fairies" or "believing in chemtrails", which is not needed to explain anything. Believing in your work means believing, based on real evidence, that what you are doing is valid. You...

    Max Bliss debates chemtrails

Dane also seems to believe that chemtrails are blocking sunlight (according to his bio he first got into the subject when his solar panels were underperforming) and yet simultaneously believes that solar radiation is "off the charts". He wants to bake his cake, have it, eat it and sell it.
