    Claim: Original Calvine UFO Photo

that's the diamond version of my double cone sketch: The side line of the diamond being angled up indicates a view from below, while the straight line in the Calvine photograph indicates a level-ish side-on view. (Unless we want to assume the hull is shaped to produce an optical illusion, and...

    Claim: Original Calvine UFO Photo

if you have aerial photography like this, it's easy to take overlapping segments and create a stereo view that exposes true 3D: What's more, the report that it was hovering and then suddenly shot up would be designed to explain why there's only ever a single perspective on the object in all...

Yes. But they couldn't choose the observer angle. The photo hoaxer can, so 2D would do.

The curvature of the base line provides perspective information. For the Jagoslaw pictures, that line is slightly (and differently!) curved in each picture, for Calvine it is straight.

    2022 US elections

Thankfully, through the work of Ed Felten and others, voting machines used in the US today have a "paper trail" that can be hand-counted, and IIRC has been hand-re-counted in Michigan in the form of an extensive audit that proved the accuracy of the machine count. You can do all-paper voting...

    2022 US elections

Trump and his supporters used long lag times in the count in 2020 to whip up false claims of a rigged process. They were aided by the “red mirage,” in which many Republican candidates took an early lead as votes were being tallied. The phenomenon occurs because Republicans disproportionately...

Rotating object far from Gemini XI spacecraft?

The Condon report says it's several objects ("it's obvious that the photographs are recording multiple pieces of Proton III", see my previous post), more than 1 km apart. Maccabee assumes it's just one:

Rotating object far from Gemini XI spacecraft?

The satellite weighed 12,200 kg. It was cylindrical in shape with convex ends. doesn't look like the object in the animated gif to me, but...: I'm not certain the radio exchange refers to the object in these pictures.

Rotating object far from Gemini XI spacecraft?

I think the satellite identification suffers from being based on the assumption that the object is big.

Looking for suggestions on creating a night sky simulator with real satellite positions

SpaceX filed documents in late 2017 with the FCC to clarify their space debris mitigation plan, under which the company was to: "...implement an operations plan for the orderly de-orbit of satellites nearing the end of their useful lives (roughly five to seven years) at a rate far faster than...

    Claim: Original Calvine UFO Photo

@jarlrmai did not claim that the Calvine photographer had access to that kind of equipment. It's also possible that their trip to the countryside served a photographic purpose not fit for newspaper consumption. It doesn't really help us with respect to determining what the photograph shows.
