The curvature of the base line provides perspective information. For the Jagoslaw pictures, that line is slightly (and differently!) curved in each picture, for Calvine it is straight.

@jarlrmai did not claim that the Calvine photographer had access to that kind of equipment. It's also possible that their trip to the countryside served a photographic purpose not fit for newspaper consumption. It doesn't really help us with respect to determining what the photograph shows.
