    UAP Video - Columbus, MS - Jan 15, 2023

I don't know how to explain it, but Stellarium shows ISS 36 degrees below the horizon at that time in Columbus, MS. Stellarium shows ISS at 39 degrees above the horizon at 18:14 CST and one minute later it passed into Earth shadow. It's next pass was low on the horizon and within Earth shadow...

    UAP Video - Columbus, MS - Jan 15, 2023

I can't play this file or save it. The ISS has a noticeable angular size. It would usually not scintillate... but it can, under the right conditions. I wish I could see the video, but I'm going to throw possible chromatic scintillation into the ring. But if it were another satellite, a...

Claim: ''UAP researcher'' released clear smoking gun photo of Orb captured by photographer

I think he was passing along info from the photographer and hadn't seen it. But his writing style is unclear, so I'm not sure.

Without the clouds and other distractions, this is already a bit better. It's easier to see that it's in the sunshine above the plants. I tried using Photoshop clone tool to darken the distant trees, but there's so little resolution in this version, the "orb" gets kind of lost.

Something about this photo that makes the illusion of great distance and large angular size so convincing is the factor of apparent brightness. There are two bands of bright sunshine: one close by and one very distant, with a band of cloud shadow between. The "orb" is brightly lit, which means...

Claim: ''UAP researcher'' released clear smoking gun photo of Orb captured by photographer

If he looks at this MB, rather than getting second hand reports, I think he's getting uneasy after learning for the first time that photos are 2D and distances and sizes can be deceptive. Angular size and distance of an unknown - or unrecognized! - object are hard to judge in a 2D photo. If...

BTW, this forced perspective photo is presented on Cornejo's Facebook Page: "Fotografía de perspectiva forzada" seems to be the term in Spanish.

Another update, (corrected): Fernando Cornejo-Würfl. I've been sloppy. This site: https://fotografosecuatorianos.org/ Doesn't seem to belong to Fernando Cornejo-Würfl. It's about Ecuadorian Photographers and seems to be run by someone else. Cornejo's info is presented on this page...

Update: Wurfl is not part of the guy's name. EDIT: Turns out his name really is Fernando Cornejo-Würfl. Bing I don't know why he added it to the name of his site: https://fotografosecuatorianos.org/portafolio_ciudad/fernando-cornejo-wurfl/ Fernando Cornejo uses a copyright notice in the...

For some reason the less UAPMax has cropped the photo, the less resolution there is within a given section of the photos he presents. In other words the photos he has cropped before uploading them to Twitter show the orb in higher resolution than the less cropped - (or uncropped?) - photos. I...

Claim: ''UAP researcher'' released clear smoking gun photo of Orb captured by photographer

BTW, what kind of pro-photographer takes a vertical photo of a landscape?* With clutter in the foreground? With the lens sort-of focused on the clutter? (Auto-focus?) This is a crappy photo all around. I'm skeptical that a pro would take even a casual cell phone snapshot like this. It would...

Claim: ''UAP researcher'' released clear smoking gun photo of Orb captured by photographer

There's another factor, remember. The transient nature of the thing. It only appears in one frame of an (alleged) three frame series. It was almost certainly discovered in that one frame after the fact, and not noticed at the time. If this were something he noticed in the sky at the moment...

Let me put it another way. Ability to glide granted. However we can tell from a still photo when the butterfly could be gliding and when it couldn't be gliding... at that moment. The wings of the butterfly in the photo are at an acute angle. That means it's in the midst of a flap. In a...

I don't think it's in perfect profile though. It's flying on a path a bit oblique to the plane of the sensor. The bug is rotated a bit. The head is turned away a bit, and the abdomen is turned a bit toward the camera.

When the wings are that far up, it can't be gliding. The wings must be in the upstroke or down-stroke of a flap.

Claim: ''UAP researcher'' released clear smoking gun photo of Orb captured by photographer

My impression is that this cropped photo was taken with a medium lens sort of focused on those plants... A crappy photo. With the poor resolution and the unknown way it was cropped, though, it's pretty hard to tell. If it is a butterfly, I'd think it's closer than those plants. But there's...
