How is entropy relevant? The gas is contained.

Why are you talking about the balloon, and the gas it contains, as separate? If a helium latex balloon should pop, of course the empty balloon would fall. The helium it contained would rise. Can't you see that if the balloon - and the gas it contains - were heavier than the air it displaces...

Oh, man. I cropped it too close on the left. The one in the upper left hand corner is supposed to say "corner of bag." The lower left "leg" (on our right) is a bit ripped on the bottom, and a shred is hanging down. The "legs" are cinched to the bags above them with string or tape, or some...

Balloon stuffing. How it's done. This is what it looks like. Probably not directly relevant to this sighting, but it got me thinking. Instead of a net... What if our UAP is several different flimsy plastic bags filled with very small latex balloons such as the hearts we see in the wedding...

Looks like an advertising balloon. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Cartoon-Character-Inflatable-Flying-sky-balloon_60358442716.html We've been neglecting advertising balloons with complex shapes.

Another issue is that a lot of the videos posted of wandering balloons were videoed by drones with a short focal length lens camera. Which means the drone had to get pretty close, even though it may not look like it. The turbulence from the drone is sometimes tossing the balloon around...

The flapping flag does not indicate changing wind speed. It's evident that you're not even bothering to read what I posted. Flags don't flap because of turbulence or wind gusts. See: https://www.metabunk.org/threads/jellyfish-ufo-from-tmzs-ufo-revolution.13304/page-12#post-309483 Do you...

Here I'm not replying, but speaking to other Members. I can see that this is one of those things that's not going away. There's some value to this, because we can see what it is that's confusing people. But how do you convince someone who doesn't understand basic physics, but is confident that...

wut? My point is about inertia effects. You're showing me inertia effects. The UAP in question moves nothing like the Blaine balloon because it has no passenger. My point about inertia effects was meant to be about the South Africa balloon. The banner could also be showing inertia effects...

Another argument from intuition. "It looks like to me." What was his actual ground speed. Can you tell from that scene?

Once, again. Where is your argument from physics? Honestly, I'm thinking back to my "arguments" with FE Believers about inertia. Can I find a video of a guy standing on a steadily moving flat bed truck, then jumping up as far as he can? No, but I can confidently tell you that he would come...

You're sticking to your argument from incredulity and personal experience? See this earlier in the thread: https://www.metabunk.org/threads/jellyfish-ufo-from-tmzs-ufo-revolution.13304/page-12#post-309483 Bottom line: You're not addressing the physics. The South Africa Balloon video is not a...

Let's get back to Mylar balloons. Mylar is transparent. Mylar is transparent until an aluminum layer is added. Mylar balloons can be -Transparent (not aluminized) -Partially aluminized -Shaped any which way Balloons can also be made of other transparent plastics. And usually are. Probably...

Thanks for showing evidence. Maybe, but I'm not convinced. The background is changing in brightness (in IR). Slight differences may be due to the dynamic range limitations of the camera. It's at best ambiguous.
