UFO video in Arizona from Reddit

Reddit seems excited about this https://www.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/c5fcp7/spotted_by_my_friend_last_night_in_arizona/ But it looks to me to be an internal reflection from one of the lights in the foreground, of course any suggestion of that in there is downvoted to oblivion.

"GO FAST" Footage from Tom DeLonge's To The Stars Academy. Bird? Balloon?

3DS MAX is one thing, but you are making uneducated assumptions on the camera tech, I made the Blender GOFAST FLIR parallax demonstration Mick linked in his YT video. Some of the flight simulators have simulated versions of the ATFLIR cameras similar to those used in the 3 TTSA videos. It would...

"GO FAST" Footage from Tom DeLonge's To The Stars Academy. Bird? Balloon?

Looks like MS FSX with the Superbug pack has a simulated ATFLIR pod.

"GO FAST" Footage from Tom DeLonge's To The Stars Academy. Bird? Balloon?

It would be interesting to see if the various videos can be recreated in simulators such as DCS-World which has a F/A-18C.

"GO FAST" Footage from Tom DeLonge's To The Stars Academy. Bird? Balloon?

You should read this entire thread, there is detailed discussion of what the measurements are from the HUD obviously it's hard to get information on military hardware but we believe it to be the horizon.

"GO FAST" Footage from Tom DeLonge's To The Stars Academy. Bird? Balloon?

I've not seen the full segment (is it available anywhere?), did they pull the classic ask them a question about one thing and then portray it as an answer to a different question, i.e. ask them about the jet's speed then represent it as the speed of the object? Also what was our eventual...

TTSA's Form DD-1910 for FLIR, Go Fast, and Gimbal videos

It's possible they are from the US Navy but filtered through a process where they became training videos for FLIR operators and thus the original file names were lost when they were clipped to demonstrate some common mistakes when interpreting FLIR imagery. So perhaps the videos were...

TTSA's Form DD-1910 for FLIR, Go Fast, and Gimbal videos

The videos all seemed to be based around things that might confuse a novice FLIR operator and we speculated the original purpose of the clips might have been part of training materials.

Why People are 'Suddenly' Seeing Strange Beams of Light Around the World - The Reddit Effect

Yeah you would fully expect that in a sunlit room when using the weak flash that the camera would expose for the flash which is only capable of illuminating the subject and the rest of the room would be darker. You can see some flash bounce from the white cabinets in the top photo.

There's a bit of a craze for night time mountain bike riding because of cheap powerful LED bike lights.

Observations of Brighton from Worthing Pier

It doesn't look that close to the water the laser water reflection seems to only start a way away from the laser and it's on a extended tripod. The water seems to skirt around the area they are on the speckles seem to indicate there is shingle to the right and left. This photo is a useful...

Utah Drone video of UFO [Probably an Insect Zip-By]

So, each frame might be exposing less than 1s/60, then stop before next frame starts 1s/60 after the one before. Yes I have said several times in this thread, that's how digital video works.

Utah Drone video of UFO [Probably an Insect Zip-By]

if the camera is using the standard 180 rule at 60FPS the exposure time per frame would be 1/120. If it helps this means that in each 16.67ms frame the camera exposes for 8.33ms. The meta data lists the camera model as the FC550 which is DJI Zenumuse X5 camera which is apparently Micro 4/3rds...

Utah Drone video of UFO [Probably an Insect Zip-By]

Digital video cameras usually use the 180 rule where the electronic shutter speed per frame is 1 / (double the frame rate ) so 30 fps is 1/60 shutter speed per frame this makes the correct amount of motion blur to mimic vision persistence.

Utah Drone video of UFO [Probably an Insect Zip-By]

I tried to work out the size of an object visible on a 1080p camera at the distances claimed by people saying it is occluded by the ridge, you can do it as long as you know the details of the camera, but I couldn't find accurate info for the camera used. [Mod add: Here's a link to a calculator...

1980s Cheadle staffordshire: Plane or UFO?

It looks to me like it's stuck to the window It's sharp in comparison to everything else outside the window, a plane that close would have motion blur. The camera focal point seems to be the window as you can see the dirt on it.

1980s Cheadle staffordshire: Plane or UFO?

First glance It looks like it was taken through a window, the focus seems to be on the window as it seems dirt on the glass is visible so it looks likely that the object is on the window as well as it is sharp compared to the stuff outside the window. So a water drop or a chip or something?
