Need help further debunking: IJVTPR (International Journal of Vaccine Theory, Practice, and Research) paper titled "Worse than the disease?"

I just got pointed at this from another direction and had done some background investigation before I realized it's the same paper. I think we haven't debunked any of the "scary" claims on Metabunk yet, but I expect there are good debunks out there. I'd be happy to look into any of these further...

Claim: Sweating can release a useful amount of toxins/toxicants from the body

then there would be no health gain from induced sweating? some "more is better" has to apply here, or you can't sell health with this

Claim: Sweating can release a useful amount of toxins/toxicants from the body

Wikipedia cites a dermatology textbook for information on how eccrine seeat glands work. Two more names of experts via an LA Times article: Sweat does contain trace amounts of toxins, says Dr. Dee Anna Glaser, a professor of dermatology at St. Louis University and founding member of the...

US Warned of Russian 'False Flag' Ukraine operation

On 13 January, speaking at a press briefing, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan: "Russia is laying the groundwork to have the option of fabricating a pretext" ( https://euromaidanpress.com/2022/01/14/us-ukraine-intelligence-warn-russia-prepares-pretext-for-invasion/ ) That sounds rather...

2020 US Election - Current Events

A Democrat won a US House seat this week with 79 percent of the vote. Her GOP opponent has not conceded. She won 79 percent of the vote over Republican Jason Mariner, who was born in Boston and founded a drug and alcohol detox center in Florida. Mariner got less than 20 percent of the vote and...

    Pseudoskepticism (and morality)

It just makes me wonder. If you’re a comedian / podcaster / media figure and you’re distrustful of authority, distrustful of authority, distrustful of authority, then how do you decide what authorities you do trust? You don’t believe the Warren Commission which had all that public documentation...

5G might interfere with aircraft altimeters

“This obviously continues to be a rapidly-evolving situation, and it is imperative that business aviation operators be aware of all notams affecting their flights and what they may entail,” said Heidi Williams, NBAA’s director for air traffic services and infrastructure. “Guidance included in...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus current events

That sounds plausible. We see pediatric hospitalisations peaking at twice the number of the last wave. Adult hospitalization is not twice, but about the same; but back in April, Michigan had 70% unprotected and now 35% unprotected, so perhaps that's what accounts for the lower numbers. Michigan...

    Fictional Conspiracy Shows.

I'm watching "Truth Seekers" on Amazon right now. Nick Frost is installing 6G broadband, hunts ghosts, and stumbles onto a bigger conspiracy when that involves his aging father, Malcolm McDowell. It took me more than one episode to warm up to it, as the first episode had a lot of horror...

Help to debunk: 737 flies backward

It looks like he tried to get a NWO/UFO channel going, but dropped the project when it wouldn't take off? The channel's most recent vid I immediately facepalmed over was this: These jets have freighter versions with no windows, and the cockpit windows are barely visible from that angle. It's...

Help to debunk: 737 flies backward

Mars appearing to move in retrograde is an astronomical example of the same effect. It doesn't matter what you use to look at it. I think this footage is helped by this: you can't really judge the distance to the aircraft, and the background is uniformly blue. The shaking and zooming serves to...

Help to debunk: 737 flies backward

This actually shows the parallax effect really well: if you pay attention to the big house, it appears to move left a lot, and that same effect would make the aircraft appear to move backwards. The house obviously didn't actually move that way, and neither did the aircraft.

Help to debunk: 737 flies backward

I'm not quite convinced. It seems to me there's only 1 aircraft, it is indeed receding because it's in a left turn away from the camera (look closely at the tail), and the difference in size is due to zoom: in your first shot, the camera is much farther away from the lantern than in the second...

Help to debunk: 737 flies backward

Zoom can not change what the camera sees (beyond restricting the field of view); that only happens in Hollywood movies (Bladerunner is notorious for that). Zoom can only magnify (and possibly add a small amount of distortion). To change the relative placement of objects in the frame, the camera...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus current events

Typically, both; it depends on the country (which is why using these graphs to compare countries against each other is slightly iffy). Usually, a "case" requires a diagnosis by a doctor, but some countries derive their case numbers from laboratory PCR test results because they can be reported...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus current events

We'll see what happens with the deaths. It is scary to see Omicron defy lockdown. That was on Dec 24th, 18 days ago, and Australia had gone from 75/million to 200/million cases. Unfortunately, the country has now topped 3000/million and fulfilled my prediction. Cases triple each week and it's...

Claim: There is no information on Social Media.

TV has been accused by its critics to pander to the "lowest common denominator" in the search for audience numbers (and advertising revenue). Why should social media be different? The social media phenomenon is the ability to segregate its audience better: the feed of a conspiracy theorist will...
