Debunked: Claim that the Electoral College Count On Jan 6 will Change the Election

To state my opinion more strongly: It's sad to hear that in some neighborhoods in the USA, people have to wait outside for hours to exercise their right to vote; and that they need to do this on a working day. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes to vote, and I understand that the same...

Debunked: Claim that the Electoral College Count On Jan 6 will Change the Election

The specific situation in 2005, as presented by Mick's source (use a private window to get past the paywall): It was only the second such challenge to a presidential race since 1877. [..] The election in Ohio, one of the most fiercely contested states, has been seized on by the Green Party...

Debunked: Claim that the Electoral College Count On Jan 6 will Change the Election

I don't believe that has happened this year, and I don't believe it's going to happen. If you read the excerpt I posted from the Congress source, only the certificates that the Vice President opens get considered by Congress. He can just throw all of these "alternative" certificates in the trash.

Debunked: Claim that the Electoral College Count On Jan 6 will Change the Election

Let's break that statement down. For it to apply, "party loyalty" and "honest objectivity" must mandate opposite votes. If you want to apply it to the Democrats, you must believe that, objectively, the elections and the courts have failed. Do you? If you want to apply it to the Republicans...

Debunked: "Error rate of 68.5% Allowable is .0008%" [Neither is True]

    J. Alex Halderman, the U-M professor and voting systems expert, said he has looked into the incident and determined that the problem arose because Antrim officials made a mistake before the election when they loaded a new version of the "election definition" — the data that is similar to a...

You're giving me ranges and not distributions. Is a size of 1-2m as likely as a size of 20-21m? Or should it be as likely as a size of 20-40m? Think of my dice, you didn't think 4-5 was less likely than 12-17. You've also not used any information we have on the sizes and speeds of known...

Well, you know what they say: No Numerology Are A Fake No Numerology Are A Fake No Numerology Are A Fake That comes to 666 if you add up the values of the letters with a tool like https://www.dcode.fr/word-value and obviously that's also a treasure trove for making carefully crafted phrases have...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus current events

There is no "true" death rate; risk factors like age and obesity factor in how deadly the virus is for parts of the population. This means that countries with a lower life expectancy (fewer old people!) and fewer obese people can be expected to have fewer deaths among those suffering from...

Draw your line of "moral firmness" at the use of force (or the condoning of the use of force). You'll get a bigger majority united on your side; and you're actually one with the law if you do. And the article I quoted before explains why that is the best course of action: because prosecuting...

No. You are again assuming you know which dice I have, but you don't. But at least you have explicit priors here. In the UFO scenario, you have not made it clear what your priors are that went into your model: what UFO appearances you think are equally likely to occur. You are inferring from a...

Additional questions: Does the size in your table take the angle of the UFO towards the observer into account, based on the relation of its lateral to its radial speed? Why is your "adopted" elevation 5.5° and not 5°? How do you arrive at +/- 0.5° margin of error for that, and a 0.5° margin of...

@Wonderer the 150-km scenario involves a sonic boom, the 100 km scenario could involve one. That should draw attention to it, and did not. I follow your "fine tuning" argument where it involves matching the speed of the fighter, which is only probable if the UFO is another fighter of the same...

2020 US Election - Current Events

This is divisive "slippery slope" rhetoric, a case that can't be made rationally. You need to acknowledge that most voters who voted for Trump want the president who got elected to be president, otherwise you are working to divide the country, and undermining Joe's expressed goal to reunite it.
