We had very good visibility today so I took some photos towards Snowdon and north Wales from 10metres asl. at Aberystwyth stone pier.
What measurements do you want? I could try to identify the peaks, but I am not very good with Google Earth compared to some.With measurements to follow?
Usual stuff: how high the peaks are; distances; how much should be hidden; how much is visible; what should be seen on a flat earth; and photo comparisons.What measurements do you want?
Almost exactly right for standard refraction - so very good viewing conditions.
Distance = 38 Miles (200640 Feet), View Height = 33 Feet (396 Inches) Radius = 3959 Miles (20903520 Feet)
Results ignoring refraction
Horizon = 7.03 Miles (37143.42 Feet)
Bulge = 240.73 Feet (2888.75 Inches)
Drop = 962.93 Feet (11555.18 Inches)
Hidden= 639.38 Feet (7672.6 Inches)
Horizon Dip = 0.102 Degrees, (0.0018 Radians)
With Standard Refraction 7/6*r, radius = 4618.83 Miles (24387440 Feet)
Refracted Horizon = 7.6 Miles (40119.47 Feet)
Refracted Drop= 825.37 Feet (9904.38 Inches)
Refracted Hidden= 528.28 Feet (6339.3 Inches)
Refracted Dip = 0.094 Degrees, (0.0016 Radians)
